Alexandros Psychoulis: Attribution
Renowned for his groundbreaking installations in the early 2000s (his iconic installation The Room, 2009, has found a permanent home in the Tate Collection, London), Alexandros Psychoulis returns to canvas for the latest chapter of his artistic expression. His latest solo exhibition, Attribution, at the prestigious gallery a.antonopoulou.art offers a deeply introspective exploration of his recent journey. In early September 2023, when his home in South Pelion was ravaged by the devastating floods of Storm Daniel, the artist's life - and creativity - took an unexpected turn. Miraculously exiting his home just moments before it collapsed, Psychoulis found solace and inspiration in the aftermath of the disaster. Born out of the depths of adversity, his most recent series of paintings serve as a therapeutic exploration of resilience and vulnerability in the face of nature's fury. The repetitive, almost obsessive strokes of his brush serve as a powerful testament to the human condition. They offer both a prayer and an absolution to the relentless power of weather phenomena. Attribution stands as a testament to the transformative power of art.
