Konstantinos Patsios: My father had a big nose, Objects and toys from and aggressive childhood
“The Child is father of the Man; And I could wish my days to be bound each to each by natural piety.”
Taking cues from Wordsworth's classic poem, visual artist Konstantinos Patsios crafts a Gesamtkunstwerk. Now, what is a Gesamtkunstwerk, you ask? It is a term that is used to describe art that blends various forms into a unified whole. Through a fusion of wall works, sculptures, videos, and NFTs, the viewer steps into a time machine, where they are transported back to the days of make-believe and wonder. At the heart of it all is Pinocchio, not just a wooden puppet, but a symbol of the boundless creativity of childhood and its lasting impact. Patsios’ collages, reminiscent of diaries, provide glimpses into both outer realities and inner worlds with a twist: woven into these artworks are threads of society and politics that invite the visitor to unravel the complexities of the human experience.
