Official Bidding presentation for the World Tunneling Congress 2023

The first official presentation for the bidding to claim the World Tunnel Congress 2023 was held with great success, on Wednesday, February 12th, 2020, at the Allegro Hall of the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre. 

During the Cocktail Meeting, the overall plan of the Greek nomination was presented to the members of the Greek Tunnelling Society (GTS), and the Companies’ representatives and Supporters.

The President of the Organizing and the GTS Committee, Mr. Ioannis Fikiris, presented the members of the Greek nomination team and the benefits of bringing the Congress to Athens. Also, Ms. Georgia Menti, CONVIN’s Congress Director, mentioned the competitive advantages of Athens as a meeting destination and analysed the details of the promotional plan which need to be followed up to WTC2020 in Malaysia, where the decision on the venue of WTC2023 will be announced. Convin, an official ACVB Member, is the bidding PCO to claim the Congress. 

Furthermore, a representative of This is Athens-Convention and Visitors Bureau office, which provided support throughout the bidding process, made a greeting speech and thanked all the attendees for their presence at the event.
