CONVIN SA: Athens at the spotlight of the International Aerosol Scientific Community

Athens welcomes the leading scientists and engineers, distinguished for their contribution to the promotion of Science and Technology in the field of aerosol research, at the 11th International Aerosol Conference (IAC 2022) which is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Athens, the Region of Attica and the Ministry of Development and Investments from September 4 to 9, 2022 at the Megaron Athens International Conference Center (MAICC).

HAAR (Hellenic Aerosol Research Association) is the host of the 11th International Aerosol Conference (IAC 2022). It was founded in 2005 and it counts 200 members from academia and industry in Greece, Cyprus, several European countries and the United States. Its main objective is the promotion of Aerosol Science and Technology in Greece and abroad, to exchange of information and research results in the field of aerosols, to contribute to education and training with emphasis on aerosol at the national level, including grants, prizes and awards for young scientists as well as the representation of the Greek scientific and technological community in other foreign organizations such as the European Aerosol Assembly (EAA) and the International Aerosol Association (IARA).

IAC 2022 is organized by CONVIN SA, and it is an important milestone for the Greek aerosol community as it offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with the international Aerosol Science and Technology community. Conference topics cover air pollution and climate change, clean energy, nanomaterials, health (nanoparticle medical technologies, pandemic) and industrial processes. The international scientific event takes place at a special juncture as society returns to normality after two years of the pandemic crisis and physical contact between representatives of the scientific community is more important than ever.

More than 1000 delegates from Greece and 45 countries participate in the conference, presenting scientific papers and exchanging views. The conference discusses a range of research topics in various areas of aerosol science. Special sessions will cover important topics such as the health effects of aerosols and their role in the transmission of COVID-19. The program and the speakers are of a high scientific standard and promise the development of a constructive dialogue and the opening of new paths in the scientific research and study of aerosols.

The distinguished guests and attendees will have the opportunity to participate in interesting events that will provide new stimuli and insights into aerosol science. The Organizing Committee has planned two exceptional visits a) the modern Environmental and Atmospheric Pollution measuring station in Helmos and b) the National Observatory of Athens on Nymphon Hill in Thisio.

Athens welcomes its visitors and promises an unforgettable experience.
