ICEGOV 2021 By CONVIN
At the beginning of October 2021, the 14th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance was organized for the first time in Greece. Specifically, ICEGOV 2021 was held in hybrid form, with the assistance of CONVIN - Professional Congress Organizers, from 6 to 8 October 2021 at Harokopio University of Athens, after the successful organizing of last year’s exclusively virtual ICEGOV 2020 conference. During the event, the importance and the need for the further development of digital governance were presented by a plethora of speakers and institutions.
Multiple representatives of international institutions and bodies attended the conference, such as the United Nations (UN), UNESCO and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and prominent personalities such as the Minister of Digital Government Kyriakos Pierrakakis and Digital Economy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Isa Ali Ibrahim, the Vice President of Strategy and Digital Governance of Saudi Arabia Abdulrahman Al Mutairi and Prof. Demosthenes Anagnostopoulos, Secretary-General of Information Systems of Public Administration.
The conference was co-organized by the United Nations University and the University of the Aegean under the presidency of Mr. Giannis Haralambidis, Professor at said University, with the assistance of Harokopio University, under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Governance. It aimed to highlight the contribution of digital governance to finding solutions to its current challenge in this ever-changing landscape that is the background for modern everyday life.
