Taxiplon and Nissan launch the first purely electric taxi in Greece!

Taxiplon in collaboration with Nissan, brings the first electric taxi in Greece, pioneering the use of electric propulsion in the daily routes of passengers and making transportation more environmentally friendly.

At the delivery ceremony of the first electric taxi, which took place recently at the headquarters of Nissan - Nick. I. Theocharakis SA, The President of Taxiplon A.E., Argyris Katsantonis stated: “At Taxiplon we closely monitor all the developments that take place in the field of urban transport technology and taxis. We are glad to include in our fleet the first electric taxi in Greece, offering another innovation in the service of our customers. We thank Nissan-Theocharakis, for the support he provided to us, in order to achieve our goal of introducing the first purely electric taxi vehicle in Greece. With this initiative, Taxiplon, takes a first step towards the reduction of pollutants and noise that bother the residents of Athens so much, while offering an unparalleled comfort experience to the passengers who will choose it for their travels in the city "

Taxiplon chose Nissan LEAF to introduce the first electric taxi in the Greek market. With a 62Kwh battery, it is expected to stir the waters in the taxi category in Greece.  Its reliability along with the technologies that accompany it, provide top comfort for the driver and its passengers. 

Last but not least, the vehicle’s long-range battery, economical use in terms of “fuel" and maintenance costs, its ergonomics and of course its friendliness towards the environment are the absolute advantages for the Greek professional motorist.
