The conference set the stage for Greece to assert itself as a premier destination for international conferences and events.

Delivering one of the opening remarks, Mr. Georgizas, CEO of Develop Athens SA, outlined the strategic vision behind Athens' destination policy.
Maria Papadopoulou, Director of This is Athens-CVB, spoke at the Greek Meetings Alliance (GMA) Talks, emphasizing the importance of establishing a National Convention Bureau. Alongside Dimitris Ganitis, TCB Managing Director, they highlighted Greece’s competitive position and growth potential in the global meetings industry.

The GMA Talks session also featured Joaquim Pires, Head of MICE Unit at Turismo de Portugal, who shared key insights on Portugal’s success story in the Business events sector.

The session concluded with an engaging panel discussion featuring regional stakeholders from Peloponnese, Rhodes, Heraklion (Crete), and Chalkidiki, exploring new opportunities for expanding and developing Business Events across Greece.
