A great effort of Athens to host the World Conference of the Deaf

The Greek Delegation, consisting of members of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Federation of the Deaf, members of the local Organizing Committee and a consultant from CONVIN, was in Paris on July 20-22, at the International Assembly of Members of the World Federation, to bid for hosting in Greece the XIX World Congress of the World Federation of Deaf - WFD. Throughout the conference, there was a kiosk from where information material as well as products of our country such as nuts, olives, sesame seed candies, ouzo etc. were distributed. Other candidate countries for the WFD2023 were also New Zealand, N. Korea and Rwanda. 
 
Athens was able to demonstrate its capability, dynamic and infrastructure to host such an important conference as WFD 2023. 

CONVIN, a This is Athens-Convention & Visitors Bureau Member, was responsible for the overall organization and co-ordination of all actions regarding the bidding process, such as preparing the relevant file, finding the required sponsors, organizing the inspection visit for the Members of the International Committee, as well as creating and preparing the presentation of the Greek candidacy in Paris.
