Athens Flying Week is back!

The largest aviation festival in Greece, the Athens Flying Week (AFW) Tanagra International Air Show 2019 is back for its 8th consecutive year, taking place on 21 and 22 September at Tanagra Air Base.

Determined to enthral the 60,000+ spectators from Greece and some 4,000 visitors from 18 countries around the world, AFW 2019 is preparing a unique spectacle that promises to pump adrenaline levels into the stratosphere.

This year, for the first time, the AFW will be welcoming one of the oldest and, without question, best aerobatics teams in the world: None other than Patrouille de France will captivate us with a precision aerobatics display – fully loaded with smoke and colour – by 8 Alphajets!

And the highlights don’t end there! Just a few of the participants who will be astounding us this year are the Royal Jordanian Falcons, the Belgian F-16 Solo Display DARK FALCON, the Polish Air Force’s ORLIK Aerobatic Team, the Austrian Air Force’s Solo Display Saab 105, world champion Johan Gustafsson from Sweden with his enchanting twilight airshow, Red Bull Team Schaerer from Sweden, with two remote-control gliders, Sky Dive Attica, RC Kavala Acro Team, Stijn De Jaeghere Aerobatics from Belgium, with the EXTRA 300, and of course the fighter jets and helicopters of the Hellenic Armed Forces – F-16, Mirage 2000-5, T-6 TEXAN II, TECNAM P-2002JF and F-4E Phantom II – for an even more dynamic presence than usual!

At the largest static aviation exhibition in recent years, spectators will be able to see and be photographed with the German Air Force’s Panavia Tornado, a Polish Air Force Casa C295, and, from the Hellenic Air Force, a newly acquired TECNAM P-2002JF trainer, an F-4E Phantom II, a Mirage 2000-5, and rare vintage aircraft.

Prepare yourself for another extraordinary two-day experience at AFW 2019!
