Release Athens Festival 2024: Behemoth, Testament & Pestilence
This year, Release Festival is dedicating an entire day to the extreme sound. Behemoth, led by the enigmatic Adam "Nergal" Darski, have been at the forefront of the Polish metal scene since 1991. They have distinguished themselves in the international metal community by evolving from their black metal roots to a blend of extreme metal. They have earned a reputation as one of the most formidable acts in the genre with albums such as Satanica and Thelema.6 and their intense and theatrical live shows.
A cornerstone of the scene since the 80s, thrash metallers Testament will join them. It's a live show not to be missed, with the duelling guitars of Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson coupled with Chuck Billy's formidable vocals on classics like The Legacy and The Gathering. Pestilence, one of the Netherlands' leading progressive death metal acts, will round off the evening. Patrick Mameli and his band have remained a powerful force in the metal world despite numerous line-up changes and hiatuses. With new material on the horizon, Pestilence will showcase their talent and relentless energy.
As per usual, Release offers multi-ticket options. For example, you can pair Behemoth's day with that of Megadeth or Judas Priest, or attend all three with a 3-day ticket at a discounted price. Not bad at all!
