Shipping companies are getting a grasp of vessel performance reporting – gathering data about CO2 emissions from their voyages, tonnes of cargo carried, cargo carrying capacity, and miles covered, so they can calculate their EEXI and CII.

But what you really need is situation awareness – so you can see whether accepting a certain cargo will push a vessel into the ‘D’ band of CII in its annual report; or to see what savings you might get from giving the vessel a certain coating in its next dry dock. Understanding what the results of your decisions would be before you commit to them.
