TEDxAthens 2022
It’s May 28th, 2022, you are at the SNFCC, holding the TEDxAthens 2022 brochure and getting ready for a dive into the "Great Unknown". The speakers go up on stage and the journey begins.
Eva Grigoriadou, Co-founder of Urbana gives a presentation about gender perspectives in spatial design, while Erika Lust introduces you to the world of porn literacy and highlights the importance of sex education. The founder of Wisdom 2.0, Soren Gordhamer, and Jake Bernstein, who has won a Pulitzer Prize twice, are on stage too.
Christian Sarkar analyzes the wisdom and cultivation of the community, along with the building of local prosperity. The British financial-reporting legend, Hugo Dixon, takes the stage with a different role this time, while Amit Katwala, whose new book "Tremors in The Blood" presents true crime stories driven by his studies in Experimental Psychology, takes over.
Agni Mariakaki, who runs the Social Studies company MindSearch, is also a Psychologist and a Social Researcher, while Dr Emer MacSweeny, Managing and Medical Director of Re: Cognition Health, turns your attention to the neuroradiology of cognitive impairment.
At the same time, you’re carried away by Angelos Pentaris’ soul power, since he decided to turn his head to all the pessimistic prognoses about his health. He was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and quadriplegia when he was four months old, but despite this, you see him "fly" on the TEDxAthens stage.
It's Jeff Montana's time. She has been in front of and behind the cameras as an artist manager, a non-binary model, in Los Angeles and New York, a writer and an lgbtq+ activist, with great success. The Greek-American astrophysicist and author Menas Kafatos, gives you a tour around his world, while talking about his work style in the pursuit of forming close connections between science and spirituality, the nature of reality and quantum effects in everyday life.
The Great Unknown is, among other things, how the biology of the body functions. Dr. Konstantinos Mavrantonis is a well-known surgeon, having the largest record of laparoscopic colon surgeries in the country, combined with loads of writing and educational work.
What do Suzana Laskaridi and Cpt. Peter Hammarstedt have in common? Their work is "blue". The former has created BlueCycle, that focuses on the recycling of marine plastic waste deriving from shipping and fishing activities. The latter has set a world record for the longest pursuit of a poaching ship at sea, chasing it for 110 days, while traveling in between 3 oceans and 11,000 nautical miles, with the “Sea Shepherd”. Stefanos Kontos, a freediver-photographer, will help you dive into this endless blue, and will show you the unknown world that lives under the surface.
"Going back to the coast", you will see Eleni Andreadis, a sustainability specialist and educator, putting effort into imparting her love for the environment to the children, and Eleni Myrivilis talking about her huge, environmental, positive-for-nature and climate-neutral agenda.
Joe Schorge and Felix Oshwald invest in the future in a very similar way. Schorge invests in new-technology companies with high potential. Oshwald, Co-founder and CEO of the 3-billion-dollar company GoStudent, is on the Forbes "30 under 30" list.
20 speakers are onboard to try to enlighten the Great Unknown in their own special way and join you in the discovery of new paths towards knowledge.
