Demeter: The awakening of the earth
The ancient Greek legend of Demeter, Goddess of Nature, and her daughter Persephone—locked in an eternal dance between the underworld and earth—has always fascinated us. Perhaps because we are still enslaved by the seasons. Or because, millennia later, our relationship with nature remains as complex and tempestuous as ever. Enjoy a sensual spectacle of dance, poetry and music by international choreographer Fabienne Courmont, framed around Demeter’s annual awakening of the earth, in a performance inspired by the Ancient Greek Theatre and the tradition of modern dance pioneer Isadora Duncan.
