Greek Fashion: 100 Years of Inspiration and Creation

Greek fashion has moved from the wings to take centre-stage. In recent weeks, the fashion world has witnessed both the magic spectacle of Mary Katrantzou’s ultimate catwalk show at Poseidon’s ancient temple at Cape Sounio and the tragic passing of Greek star designer Sophia Kokosalaki. In a timely tribute, you can see one of Kokosalaki’s sumptuous silk creations among a rich showcase of garments that define the last century of Greek design, both urban and folk. From beaded Roaring Twenties numbers to strapless 50s cocktail frocks and 70s maxi-dresses, Greek Fashion - 100 Years of Inspiration and Creation comprises 140-odd garments from the Peloponnese Folklore Foundation.
