13th Athens Open Air Film Festival
"Hakuna Matata" means "no worries.” It also perfectly describes Greek summer, including the experience of attending a film screening at one of Athens’ marvellous open-air cinemas. Queue for the 13th Athens Open Air Film Festival for a special screening of the all-time, all-ages favourite Lion King, in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Disney. Enjoy fun activities such as face painting, as well as live music by El Sistema Greece Youth Orchestra at this special screening of the “Hamlet, but with lions” animated classic at Zappeion Megaron.
The festival's official opening film is Nuovo Cinema Paradiso (1988) during which El Sistema Greece Youth Orchestra will perform live works of music created as part of the initiative "B-ME: Blending Melodies: Bridging Cultural Identities" where 15 composers and 15 musicians from refugee or immigrant backgrounds collaborate to create original compositions.
