The Athens City Festival, the biggest annual spring festival of Athens is back! Athens City Festival will take place throughout the whole of May (yes, you got that right, a 31-day-long festival) with free entrance* events happening all around the city. Consisting of four main pillars—Exhibitions, Gastro-Culture, Entertainment, and Outdoor Athens—the festival aims to showcase both the essential and the understated traits of our unconventional city, offering visitors a first-hand experience of the Athens way of living life. This year ACF includes more than 120 events catering to all tastes, types and ages, making May the ideal season to pay a visit to our side of the Mediterranean. Even if you’re not familiar with the Cinematic Orchestra, chances are you probably love at least one of their songs. Palatable and agreeable, yet still layered and elaborate, their music has been used in a number of TV commercials, documentaries, and movies throughout the years. The downtempo/nu jazz band is arguably the main concert event at this year’s Athens City Festival. The British band that bears the roster mark of one of the greatest electronic labels of our times, Ninja Tune, will perform at Plateia Kotzia and will seal off the first week of the festival in the best of ways. Deep breath for what comes next: the event is free entrance.
