AEF2023: Kraftwerk Live at the Acropolis
It’s that time of the year again, when Athenians start planning their summer holidays around the programme of the Athens Epidaurus Festival. The leading performing arts festival in Greece, and one of the oldest in Europe, returns between June 1st and August 26th for its 68th edition with a rich programme of events. As always, the main venues are the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the industrial complex of Pireos 260 and the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. Click here for our festival picks or head over to the official website for the full programme.
This one’s going in the books. Immortal techno robots Kraftwerk bring their famed live show to the stage of the Herodion as part of the Athens Epidaurus Festival, in a co-production with EJEKT Festival, one of Athens’ biggest music fiestas. The German electronic music pioneers sadly said farewell to founding member Florian Schneider who passed away back in 2020, so this time there will be three red suited, black-tied models on stage instead of the usual four. In our books, however, this doesn’t make this upcoming concert any less fascinating. If anything, it makes it even more emotionally charged and an absolute must-attend event.
