Athens Open Air Film Festival 2020
Athens Open Air Film Festival's 10th anniversary came close to not being celebrated this year. But as open-air cultural venues, summer cinemas and museums slowly re-open, the grounds for the cherished Athenian festival are once again available to be transformed into al fresco movie theatres. AOAFF2020 kicks off this week at Technopolis with three screenings of classic films: Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, Pedro Almodovar's All About My Mother and Jim Sharman's Rocky Horror Picture Show. The full programme—that also includes a very special drive-in screening—will be announced soon, so check this space often.
All necessary social distancing measures will be in effect during screenings. Entrance is free by acquiring entry vouchers from Technopolis' Iakhou Street entrance. Only one ticket per person. Voucher distribution will begin shortly before each screening so we'd suggest you get there a bit earlier as lines can get quite big:
- 25/06 - Jackie Brown: Movie starts at 21.00, vouchers available at 19.30.
- 26/06 - All About My Mother: Movie starts at 21.00, vouchers available at 19.30.
- 27/06 - Rocky Horror Picture Show: Movie starts at 22.45, vouchers available at 21.00.
Update: the festival's full programme has been announced and features screenings of American Graffiti, Singapore Sling, Body Heat, May Fools, Donkey Skin, Rebecca, All About Eve, The Good, The Bad and the Ugly and Anatomy of a Murder. For dates and times click here.
