Athens Pride 2020

June's LGBT Pride was just one of the joys that 2020 snatched from us. Athens Pride was supposed to take over the downtown strip, transforming the Historic Centre into a week-long rainbow-themed party, as it's done since 2005. Sadly, it turns out there'll be no Pride Parade this year. Safety comes first. But all's not lost. The re-scheduled programme for Athens Pride week has been announced and we can expect daily digital content along with some small IRL events such as exhibitions, talks, seminars and performances (including Greek poetry slams, yoga sessions, DJ sets and saucy pole dancing strip shows) that will take place in Athens, under all necessary safety and distancing measures.

Replacing the flagship pride march is an online seminar titled "LGBTQI+ Rights: Aspirations and Challenges in the EU and Greece", co-hosted by the Hellenic Bureau of the European Parliament.
