BlackBox Jazz Music Festival

Get into the jazz mood with eleven exciting concerts by some top notch Greek artists. Athens’ Parnassos Literary Society hosts the BlackBox Jazz Music Festival featuring 11 live performances by more than 30 musicians in the very heart of Athens. 

On February 10th, the festival begins with an evening of jazz excellence by the George Kontrafouris Trio, followed by the Dimitris Kalantzis Quartet, who will present their latest project, United States of Mind.

On February 11th, an all-star line-up including the renowned Human Touch, the multi-dimensional Melina Paxinos Quartet and Stathis Anninos Septet will kick off the first day of the jazz marathon.

On February 16th, Stathis Anninos will also be on hand to provide live music for the screening of Alfred Hitchcock's The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog (1927).

Lakis Tzimkas will perform solo pieces from his career on February 17th before The Spiral Trio and then George Tsolis & Friends will take to the stage and present their new work.

On the 18th of February, don't miss the grand finale and the second day of the jazz marathon when three bands (Kostas Patziotis Quartet, Dimitris Tsakas Trio and Petros Klampanis Trio) each with its own very unique sound will bring the 1st BlackBox Jazz Music Festival to a close.
