Callas Lives On: The Party!

It’s December 2nd, 1923, and the world of opera is forever changed with the birth of Maria Callas. Fast forward to November 30th, 2024, and the Maria Callas Museum in Athens is throwing its second annual street party to celebrate her legend.

Petrachi Street behind the museum will transform into a vibrant dance floor, where opera meets groove. Teaming up with Kosmos 93.6 radio, the museum will host an electrifying DJ set by Demetra Kakounaki & Giota Kotseta. The night will kick off with a mix of opera classics and remixes of Callas’ iconic arias, gradually building to a blend of jazz, funk, afro-beat, and nu-disco that will get you moving.

Need a drink to keep the party going? The museum's “La Divina” café will be serving up great wines and cocktails at special prices. Plus, there’ll be exclusive discounts in the museum shop on the “La tua Maria” collection, so you can take home a piece of the magic.
