This festive season, Athens transforms into a sparkling wonderland with Christmas in Athens: A Fairytale Comes to Life, a city-wide celebration running from November 28 to January 10. The city’s squares and landmarks are illuminated (with energy-efficient lighting, ofcourse) and every Athenian neighbourhood gets in on the yuletide action with free events for all tastes and ages, including Christmas-themed concerts, open-air film screenings, kids activities and more.

The welcoming Kypseli Municipal Market transforms into a lively holiday hub, radiating the heart and spirit of the community. Joyful carols, shared drinks, and warm laughter fill the space, capturing the magic that unfolds when neighbours and visitors unite to celebrate the season.

13-15/12; 10 am - 10 pm; Christmas Book Fest: Look for the perfect holiday reads, Christmas gifts, and lucky charms while enjoying warm drinks, snacks, and mulled wine. With activities for all ages—painting workshops, games, book presentations, performances, and live music.

16-17/12; 1 -9 pm; Kethea - Christmas Bazaar: Discover unique gifts and support a wonderful cause at this Christmas Bazaar hosted by the Centre for the Treatment of Addictions, experiencing the joy of giving back this holiday season.
