Coppélia at the Greek National Opera
Originally penned by Léo Delibes in 1870, Coppélia tells the story of Swanilda and Franz, who are about to be married, and a strange girl called Coppélia. The mystery surrounding Coppélia soon unravels when it is revealed that she is no ordinary girl, but a mechanical robot created by the cunning inventor Coppélius. What is more, she has stolen Franz's gaze and affection.
Multi-award winning Slovenian choreographer Edward Clug has put his own spin on this classic tale. His interpretation, a mesmerising dance piece of beauty and intrigue, plunges the audience into a world where the boundaries between human and puppet are blurred. Clug's use of contemporary dance movement is complemented by Léo Delibes' vibrant original music and Milko Lazar’s new compositions. Only five performances will be held at the Greek National Opera, so hurry up and get your tickets.
