Correspondences: Soundwalk Collective & Patti Smith

Soundwalk Collective is the brainchild of Stephan Crasneanscki and Simone Merli which has collaborated with some of the world's great artists and musicians. In the past the duo has teamed up with legends such as Jean-Luc Godard, Nan Goldin, Sasha Waltz and Charlotte Gainsbourg. Having performed in places like Berghain, the Centre Pompidou and the Louvre Abu Dhabi, they are now coming to the Onassis Stegi with Patti Smith to showcase Correspondences.

This project, which has evolved for over a decade, was originally composed as long travelling shots, the soundtrack to an invisible film. Crasneanscki took these recordings to none other than Patti Smith and offered her a new canvas to channel her poetic vision. Their correspondences―ongoing conversations with the intention of reflecting on life and nature―have shaped this ongoing interaction between the artists.

The performance is a mix of live films and director's cuts, featuring the talented crew of Stephan Crasneanscki, Simone Merli, Patti Smith, and some special guests.
