Dan Perjovschi. The Long Wall Report
Have you ever felt that museums have a lot of space which seems to be unused? For example, the corridors leading to exhibitions, the foyer walls, the windowsills. Romanian artist Dan Perjovschi loves to fill these empty walls and spaces with his cartoon-like drawings in permanent black marker. For his first solo museum exhibition in Greece, Perjovschi created a 30-metre drawing installation, directly onto the largest wall of the EMST Foyer. His work (what he describes as a mix of graffiti and art brut), draws on current social and political affairs. In his thirty-year career, he’s been invited to draw on the walls of several museums and institutions such as the MoMA and the Kunsthalle Wien. And now it’s time for the National Museum of Contemporary Art to get the marker treatment.
