Danai Anesiadou: D POSSESSIONS
The National Museum of Contemporary Art Athens is celebrating women's art this season with a series of group and solo exhibitions honouring pioneering female artists.
The surreal and uncanny world of Danai Anesiadou awaits you at the EMST. Anesiadou is a Brussels-based Belgian-Greek artist who's making waves with her first solo exhibition in Greece. A co-production with WIELS, Brussels, D POSSESSIONS brings sculptures, collages and even the artist's own furniture to life in an allegorical wonderland. Anesiadou not only banishes material possessions, but also purges the energies they contain. Think Marie Kondo meets modern-day Exorcist. Connecting the dots between conspiracy theories, Hollywood and even the Pentagon's Entertainment Industrial Complex, she creates a kaleidoscopic commentary on the chaotic state of our world. How does Anesiadou manage to do all this and comment on the multiple and multifaceted crises we face, you ask? Well, as we told you, she's making a big splash, and the only way to find out is to see it for yourself.
