Dead Can Dance
This summer concert season in Athens seems to be picking up right where we left off before you-know-what. Dead Can Dance’s last show was a sold-out, ethereal night at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus back in 2019. The legendary duo returns to Athens this spring, this time in a more contemporary architectural marvel, the SNFCC. Consider us not only excited, but terribly lucky as well since their US tour was cancelled last minute. No new album from the duo since their homage to Greek mythology with 2018’s Dionysus, but we guess that almost 40 years of discography will cut it for one show. Despite its beauty and setting, we feel that the stage of the Stavros Niarchos Hall might not be the best choice for a late May concert - you really can’t beat the Herodion for a concert such as this one - but we’ll most probably be proven wrong by Brendan Ferry’s and Lisa Gerrard’s grandeur.
