Diversity & Stereotypes in Movies, Comic Books & Video Games
Is Game of Thrones a metaphor on political corruption? Is Marvel's Black Panther a narrative on how an African country could thrive if it weren't colonized? Can we overlook Final Fantasy's clear references to the dangers of nuclear energy? Movies, TV series, comic books and video games are the very core of today's culture. Gamification has led to more engaging content than ever before, making it ever more necessary for said content to be analyzed, clarified and delivered to the younger audience. Not an easy task. Andrew Burn, professor of English, Media and Drama at the UCL Knowledge Lab will approach these subjects for the sake of parents, teachers and teenagers who will attend this free entrance discourse at Serafio.
