Gimme Shelter 2019

Besides being one of Athens' must-visit joints for live concerts, Gagarin205 is also home to Gimme Shelter; a month-long music film festival with concerts, Q&As and surprise guests. Gimme Shelter returns for its third annual edition and has announced four dates in November and December, making the hardest day of the week the coolest, right in time for the final stretch to Christmas. Films shown are:

• 25/11: Greek Rock Revolution—a music documentary featuring seven bands of the flourishing Greek rock scene. Live performance by Electric Feat.
• 02/12: Beside Bowie—The story of Mick Ronson, the guitar great who helped to create the sound of David Bowie's hugely influential glam rock years. Live performance by Heroes Tribute Band.
• 09/12: The 4 Levels of Existing—the fascinating story of how the sounds of a small psychedelic rock Athenian band of 1976 led Kanye West, Rihanna and Jay-Z to the Grammys. Live performance by Οtus and members of 4 Levels.
• 16/12: Murder In The Front Row—a documentary that chronicles the 1980s Bay Area thrash metal scene that shunned the hard rock of MTV and Hollywood hairspray bands. Live performance by Memorain.
