Gimme Shelter Film Festival Pop Up Mondays: PJ Harvey: A Dog Called Money
Which day of the week would you say is the least rock? Monday, right? Wrong. Gimme Shelter Film Festival is back with Pop Up Mondays at Gagarin205, one of Athens’ must-visit joints for live concerts. That means we get a music documentary screening, a Q&A with its creator (most likely) and live music shows with one ticket. This season’s programme includes a first screening of PJ Harvey’s “A Dog Called Money”, the untold story of the journey behind her 2016 album “Hope Six Demolition Project”, a powerful anti-war declaration and musical experiment. Short story is that Polly Jean and director, photojournalist, and long-time collaborator Seamus Murphy, being the fierce, uncompromising spirits that they are, recorded words and images in Kosovo in 2011, Afghanistan in 2012, and in Washington DC in 2016 and turned them into an album and a documentary. The longer, and truer, story will unravel at Gagarin, along with a live show by Athenian fuzz rock duo The Noise Figures and a Q&A with Murphy himself.
The evening’s schedule is:
21:00 Live: The Noise Figures
21:45 Q&A with the director, Seamus Murphy
22:15 PJ Harvey: Α Dog Called Money (94’)
