GNO's Intercultural Orchestra

The Greek National Opera's Alternative Stage in collaboration with the GNO’s Department of Educational and Social Activities started on a wonderful initiative back in October 2018. The plan was to assemble an orchestra of professional and amateur musicians who are temporary or permanent residents of Athens. The result is GNO's Intercultural Orchestra consisted by twenty five musicians from Greece, Turkey, Syria, Sudan, Italy, Cyprus, Iran, France and Portugal, who after months of practice are ready for their debut performance. The concert will take place at the ideal setting of the courtyard of the Byzantine and Christian Museum with a free entrance, featuring a repertoire of traditional songs from the Mediterranean East and Greece under the conduction of Haris Lambrakis.
