Godspeed You! Black Emperor Live at the Acropolis
"Are we reading this right? Is this for real?" That was our first reaction to the announcement of this year's Athens Epidaurus Festival when we saw the name of Godspeed You! Black Emperor included. The behemoths of the global post-rock scene will perform at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus this summer, a safe bet as can be for a transcendental experience at this ancient open-air Roman amphitheatre. You'll excuse our throwback to one of our all-time favourites of theirs, their 1999 Slow Riot For New Zero Kanada EP, as we keep our fingers crossed that we'll get to hear this one live.
