I AM (VR) at Onassis Stegi

A mysterious entity greets you as you put on your VR goggles. “Hello, human person.” Your 35’ minute journey towards “knowing thyself” has just begun, orchestrated by one of the most important contemporary German directors. Susanne Kennedy, collaborates with multimedia artist Markus Selg and interdisciplinary artist Rodrik Biersteker who specialises in video and interactive technologies in a theatrical context, to present “I AM (VR)”; a surrealistic experience that pushes the limits of theatrical performance with the help of virtual reality technology.

Do you know who you are? Where you are heading? What you’re looking for? These are the questions perpetually posed, and perhaps even answered, in this digital oracle staged by Kennedy and her collaborators at one of Onassis Stegi’s lesser known spaces. Part maze, part hallucination, part experiment and dramaturgy, this VR environment draws inspiration from the oracle at Delphi and awaits visitors and their questions. What will you ask, should you enter the oracle?
