In the footsteps of El Greco
For those of you who like their culture stirred, Megaron has quite the night planned for you. In the Footsteps of El Greco is a musical and dance journey from Crete to Spain that traces the path of the famed painter Domenikos Theotokopoulos during the late 1500s. Guitarist and composer Christos Tzifakis has lived in both Crete and Spain and is familiar with and inspired by the cultures of both lands. His performance is a voyage that merges Byzantine, Arabic, Greek, and Gypsy elements with jazz-rock. He is joined by the ERT Contemporary Music Orchestra and notable soloists for a night of Cretan mantináda and Spanish letra fused with Dionysian vibes.
