Into the Woods

Be careful what you wish for. Stephen Sondheim’s dark, multi-awarded musical Into the Woods  may star some of our most beloved fairytale characters - Cinderella, Rapunzel, Red Riding Hood and Beanstalk Jack - but we'd have to say it's probably the antidote to your average Disney romp. Everyone lands their heart’s desires; only to have “happy ever after” remain firmly out of reach. Fueled by James Lapine’s masterful libretto and Sondheim’s acclaimed score, Into the Woods asks why we expend so much energy on chasing desires not of our own making. See this subversive and modern tale when it comes to Greece for the first time in a bold Greek National Opera production, under the direction of Dimitris Bogdanos, at SNFCC. Possibly not one for the Under 10s but older kids will get a kick out of it.
