Jazz at the Museum
A night at the museum is always a good idea, especially when the museum transforms into a concert space. This is exactly what the B&E Goulandris Foundation offers with its Jazz Interactions series, blending jazz music and the visual arts. The series kicked off with Haris Ioannou’s Workin’ Trio on 4 October, and here's what to expect leading up to March 2025:
November 8: The Michalis Brouzos Trio – Brotherhood
Drawing on world and ethnic sounds, this performance presents music that strikes a balance between contemporary classical influences and jazz.
December 27: Dimitris and Nestor Vasilakis – Father & Son
The father and son duo will showcase their latest compositions, focusing on ballads and blues, accompanied by poetry. They’ll be joined by George Kontrafouris on Hammond organ and Jason Wastor on drums.
January 17: The Dimitris Tsakas Trio – Genesis
To celebrate the release of their new album Conversation Helps, Dimitris Tsakas (saxophone), Kimonas Karoutsos (double bass), and Alexandros Drakos Ktistakis (drums) collaborate with visual artist Eleni Tsaka to explore the relationship between sound and image.
February 7: The Haris Lambrakis Quartet – The Art of Humble Materials and Music
Haris Lambrakis (ney), Dimitris Theoharis (piano), Nikos Sidirokastritis (drums), and Dimitris Tsekouras (double bass) create a dialogue between the art of humble materials (arte povera) and the unifying power of music.
March 28: Petros Klampanis – Rooftop Stories
Petros Klampanis and his double bass will take you on an audiovisual journey through his solo project created during the pandemic. Featuring videos of rooftop performances in various cities around the world, this promises to be a unique experience.
