Lee Scratch Perry
Bob Marley and the Wailers probably wouldn't have been formed if it wasn't for Lee Scratch Perry. And that is not even his biggest contribution to music. The 83-year-old Jamaican is responsible for pushing the dub and reggae genres forward during the 70s with his innovative studio techniques and early adoption of remixing in his legendary Black Ark studio—supposedly burnt down by himself in a fit of rage. He also brought all that—minus the burning down things—to the UK, heavily influencing the sound of the era's punk movement. The Upsetter is coming to Athens to sing about his usual thoughts; humanitarian and political crisis, justice, corruption and chasing the devil out of space.
