Mario Frangoulis: Christmas in Athens
His silken vocals have swept up audiences at La Scala in Milan and London’s Royal Albert Hall. Now Athens audiences can catch the wave too when classical crossover artist and tenor Mario Frangoulis delivers a pitch-perfect Christmas concert, featuring the likes of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Dean Martin and Nat King Cole, at the Athens Concert Hall. African-born and Greece-raised, Frangoulis’ success story is the stuff of dreams. He was plucked from London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama by the Godfather of Musicals, Sir Cameron Mackintosh, who cast him as Marius in Les Misérables in London’s West End. Shortly afterwards, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber tapped him to play Raoul in Phantom of the Opera to great critical acclaim. Find out what all the fuss is about over two enchanted evenings.
