A Musical Take-Off
Fasten your seat belts for take-off. The Athens International Airport and the Megaron (Athens Concert Hall) are taking us all on an artistic flight to mark the 30th milestone year of one of Greece’s most important artistic bodies.
For three decades, the Megaron has served cultured Athenians and visitors; hungry to hear world-class orchestras and performances in an acoustic setting to rival the best in Europe.
Hosted at the airport’s "Art & Environment" space (Departures level) until the end of August, you’ll journey from the Megaron’s embryonic music hall beginnings to its sleek present day status as beloved landmark, with plenty of photographic flashbacks along the way, capturing top moments in the Megaron’s thirty-year cultural course.
Browse vivid photography, historic costumes and stage props, displayed for the first time outside of the vast Megaron archives (with Greek and English descriptions), including signed accessories from distinguished Greek and international set and costume designers. If the airport is off-limits for you, you can explore the exhibition virtually right here.
Kalo taxidi (that's how we say "have a good flight!").
