New Year's Eve Concerts at the Maria Callas Theatre - CANCELLED
Event has been cancelled due to preventative measures against the Covid Omicron variant.
The Olympia Municipal Music Theatre Maria Callas is one of the least known theatres in Athens, but by no means the least beautiful. The revamped former home of the National Opera has been reinvigorated during the past two years—to the extent a global pandemic has allowed it to—offering a wide variety of affordable and free concerts and shows to the public and visitors. For the last three days of 2021, the Maria Callas theatre has announced a series of concerts that cover jazz, swing, classical, Greek and Cristmas music, of course. Check the programme below and follow the links for tickets:
- 29/12, 8.30pm: Music by great Greek composers such as Tsitsanis, Hadjidakis, Kaldaras and Theodorakis, performed by Fotini Veletsiotou and the Greek Music Workshop of the Municipality of Athens. Book tickets here.
- 30/12, 8.30pm: Swinging Christmas with Ella and Frank featuring Steve Romanos & Jenny Kapadai. Book tickets here.
- 31/12, 12pm: The twelve days of Christmas. The Choir of the Municipality of Athens performs classical pieces by Benjamin Britten, John Rutter, Bod Chilcott, Adolphe Adam, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Jester Hairston, Franz Gruber and more. Book tickets here.
