Open House Athens 2022
How often do you look at buildings and architecture while travelling? How about peeking behind semi-closed doors and windows for a look at the local life? If the answer is a lot, then let’s talk about Open House Athens for a minute. The crowd-favourite architecture event returns for its 9th edition this year, offering public access and guided tours to more than fifty private and public buildings, monuments, residences and working places. Both physically and virtually, visitors will get the chance to step inside the sizzling hotels that are reshaping Omonia Square, such as Marriott’s The Moxy, Brown’s Lighthouse Hotel and Dave Red, as well as neoclassical marvels such as the National Observatory of Athens, the National Theatre of Greece, the Numismatic Museum, industrial spaces and offices, private residences, museums, libraries, churches and the former Refugee Houses in Ambelokipi.
