Phil Goss: Port
From the port of Piraeus, to London, and back to downtown Athens, Phil Goss' Port has sailed quite a distance, before docking at the Alibi gallery. The British multidisciplinary artist spent his fair share of time soaking up Piraeus back in 2019 as part of a Snehta Residency project; capturing seemingly trivial details of the port and urban landscapes in freehand line drawings. Goss amplified this material back in his London studio, experimenting with a variety of drawing, painting, carving and printmaking techniques to create a new body of work that will be presented for the first time. Τhe exhibition includes paintings, drawings, textile prints and wood carvings, all in dialogue with a large-scale mural painting, especially commissioned for the exhibition. Gallery season is officially open in Athens and this one sounds like it's well worth the journey.
Visitors must wear masks for the duration of their visit.
