2nd Piraeus Artport Festival

If you think that Piraeus is just worth a short layover before you head off to some Greek island, think again. Athens’ port is rapidly changing, and much of that change is due to its blooming artistic scene. Enter Piraeus ArtPort Festival and its second edition. Presented by the Municipal Theatre of Piraeus and in collaboration with various cultural institutions such as the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus, the Stone Warehouse of the Piraeus Port Authority and the Athens Concert Hall, this year’s programme features a wide variety of dance, theatrical and musical performances, visual arts exhibitions, cinematic events and more. 09/09 - 02/10/2022: "In no Port Euphoria". Outdoor art exhibition at the railings around the perimeter of the port of Piraeus, in collaboration with the Athens School of Fine Arts and the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation. Free entrance.
An art installation at the same port that welcomed the Greek refugees from Asia Minor one hundred years ago.

09/09 - 02/10/2022 | 1 pm – 8 pm - Arthur Jafa "Love Is The Message, The Message Is Death" PPA Stone Warehouse. Free entrance.
Award-winning visual artist, filmmaker and African American theorist Arthur Jafa examines the history and experiences of African Americans. He presents a collage of photographs that trace African American identity through a wide range of iconography, framed by "Ultralight Beam", a gospel-inspired hip-hop song by Kanye West. 

16 & 17/09/2022 | 10 pm - "Electric Nights" in collaboration with the artistic collective Medea Electronique. Stone Warehouse. Free entrance.
Improvisation, noise, experimental electronic music, DIY music activities and avant-garde sounds from Greece and abroad.

18/09/2022 | 22:30 - DJ party. Municipal Theatre of Piraeus. Free entrance

24/09/2022 | 21:30 - Live performance by The Page of Cups. Municipal Theatre of Piraeus Foyer. Ticket price: €8.

28/09 - 01/10/2022 - "Arc for Dance Festival". Main Stage. Free admission on a priority basis.
Seven works by Greek and foreign artists will be presented in four days inviting the audience to an exciting, participatory dance celebration.
