Release Athens Festival 2024: Thievery Corporation, Black Pumas, The Budos Band

Release Festival has set up what can only turn out to be one of the coolest of summer nights in Athens. For a day dedicated to the sounds of downtempo, dub, electronica and soul, Athenians are very excited to welcome Thievery Corporation and Black Pumas.

Thievery Corporation, the legendary duo from Washington DC, have been setting the electronic music scene ablaze since '95 with their blend of dub, reggae, jazz and bossa nova. From classics like Sounds From The Thievery Hi-Fi to more recent releases like Treasures From the Temple, they've never failed to deliver radio hits and arena fillers.

They will be supported by Grammy-nominated Black Pumas, who will bring their soulful blend of funk and R&B to Greece for the first time. With just two LPs in their catalogue, the Texans are considered one of the most exciting names in contemporary soul at the moment.

Adding their funkadelic vibes to the day's mix are Staten Island's own The Budos Band. More acts will be announced for the day.
