Release Athens x SNF Nostos 2023: Siouxsie, Echo & The Bunnymen, Interpol, Viagra Boys
Wondering what a collaboration between two of the biggest Greek music festivals would sound like? Release Athens and SNF Nostos have the answer. During June, two stages will be set up at the Water Plaza and the SNFCC grounds (a lovely ten-minute walk away from each other) for a three-day festival.
The third day of this collaboration is shared between Siouxsie Sioux (at the Water Plaza) and Interpol (at the SNFCC’s Great Lawn). After a 10 year hiatus, the legendary Siouxsie returns on stage and her first shows have been triumphant. The day’s line-up at Water Plaza includes the post-punk/new wavers Echo & the Bunnymen, who with their sound left their mark on the 80s, as well as British electro-pop band Ladytron.
Interpol were influenced by the sound of the 1980s and bands like The Smiths, Joy Division, and Echo & the Bunnymen, yet they have created their own distinctive style. The New York trio has made a strong comeback with last year’s release The Other Side of Make-Believe. Local favourite Swedes Viagra Boys, and Belgium’s The Haunted Youth will warm up for Interpol.
The headliners will not overlap, and there will be sufficient time for the audience to move from one stage to the other.
