Looks like it's going to be a stay-in November in Athens, as the second wave of the pandemic rises around the world. This time, however, we'd like to think that we are a bit wiser and more prepared. Athens' biggest cultural centre, the SNFCC, surely is both, as its rich programme will also be available online. Read below for some of the highlights of this month and don't forget to check regularly with the centre's website.
6/11, 6pm - Discussion: All About Running: The established "All about Marathon" conference, this year changes form and title, adapts and acquires another composition, embracing a broader meaning of running. With wellness and good health at the forefront, it focuses on young runners, expanding its network and connects online schools from Greece and abroad, in order to share the experience of running, composing a rich mosaic where distances are defeated.
8/11, 5pm - Parabases: Faces of the Hero | Homer’s The Iliad: This year’s series of semi-staged performances will focus on the heroes of the great Greek myths and narratives, exploring the evolution of the hero model from the ancient era until the present day.
9/11, 8.30pm - Cosmos: Eleni Karaindrou | Music for films: Eleni Karaindrou presents her cinematic work in a unique concert at the Stavros Niarchos Hall.
22/11, 9pm - Music Escapades: TAF LATHOS: The talented rapper with the massive online following, comes to the Lighthouse of the SNFCC, for a dynamic concert, as part of the Μusic Escapades series.
30/11, 8.30pm - Cosmos: Camerata - The Friends of Music Orchestra | In Memoriam Benjamin Britten: The musicians of the Camerata – The Friends of Music Orchestra in a exclusive concert conducted by the renowned harpsichord player and maestro Markellos Chryssicos.
