Sonia Yoncheva
Her red-blooded delivery of some of opera’s greatest arias and duets has sent Sonia Yoncheva on a starry trajectory.
The Bulgarian soprano has ticked off all the classics – Tosca, Othello, Carmen, Norma, La Traviata – and graced all the hallowed stages from London’s Covent Garden; to the Metropolitan Opera in New York and La Scala in Milan.
Now it’s the turn of Athens to enjoy this expansive and agile talent as she presents a one-off recital of the arias from operas by Giacomo Puccini for the Greek National Opera; in tandem with "Together for the Child". The performance marks the 25th anniversary of "Together for the Child", an association which works for the well-being of children, young people and families facing poverty, disability, abuse and illness.
The evening will be preceded by a 20 minute screening on the charity’s work.
