Tchaikovsky at the Greek National Opera Ballet
Head to the SNFCC for the Greek National Opera Ballet’s bold new production, Tchaikovsky. This contemporary performance flips the perspective, transforming the legendary composer from creator to subject in an intimate exploration of his emotional world.
Drawing from recently published letters, the ballet delves into Tchaikovsky’s personal struggles—his self-doubt, conflicted relationships, and fears surrounding love and music. Choreographed by Cayetano Soto and Dario Suša, the production reveals the tension between his artistic brilliance and inner turmoil. Featuring excerpts from his letters alongside iconic compositions such as the Pathétique Symphony and Eugene Onegin, Tchaikovsky brings the composer’s world to life through deeply expressive movement and narrative choreography.
After a successful run in European theatres, this striking performance arrives in Athens for five nights, premiering on February 14, 2025.
