The Last Five Years
For those of you who missed last year’s sold-out run of The Last Five Years at the GNO Alternative Stage, you’ve been given a second chance to catch this great love story.
The Last Five Years is the story of Cathy and Jamie, two people in their twenties who fell in love, got married and, well, got divorced. We won’t be the ones to say more and spoil off-Broadway’s most popular musical. But to give you a little insight, the couple are only seen together on stage once, at the time of their wedding. According to the play, this is the moment when their opposite narratives meet, as Cathy begins her story from their break-up, and Jamie from the moment they met.
Jason Robert Brown’s famed work is directed by Dimitris Dimopoulos, with Michalis Papapetrou conducting a six-member instrumental ensemble.
