The Loser

Following a successful initial run of sold-out performances, the music theatre production of The Loser—an adaptation of the acclaimed novel by Austrian writer Thomas Bernhard—returns to the vibrant GNO Alternative Stage at the SNFCC. This "oral musical" explores the fictional life of one of the 20th century's greatest pianists, Glenn Gould. The production intricately intertwines the complexities of Bernhard’s writing with the grandeur of Bach, the composer Gould famously specialised in. Ektoras Lygizos, who directs and acts, is accompanied on stage by a talented cast who perform a refreshing take on musical theatre.
